movies:
baby mama (2008)
my big fat greek wedding (2002)
bridget jones's diary (2001)
common themes:
lookin' for love (& finding it in unexpected places
quirk
families are weird
favorite quotes:
Yeah, actually, you might be right. 'Cause sometimes, when I work a really long day, I like to come home and chew a huge wad of Bubblicious gum and stick it under my reclaimed barnwood coffee table!
Put some Windex on it.
At times like this, continuing with one's life seems impossible... and eating the entire contents of one's fridge seems inevitable. I have two choices: to give up and accept permanent state of spinsterhood and eventual eating by alsatians, or not. And this time I choose not. I will not be defeated by a bad man and an American stick insect! Instead, I choose vodka. And Chaka Khan.
my thoughts:
in all honesty none of these are favorites of mine. i think they are each just fine & if you haven't seen them you totally should.
bridget jones:
renee zellweger, hugh grant & colin firth (sigh) are so great together & the diary entries are so fun (maybe i do love this movie!)
greek wedding:
john corbett is so great & i have watched this multiple times. it's pretty funny.
families are funny, bridget jones parents are so goofy but totally sweet, the big fat greek family is so over the top but in the best we're all crazy & crazy about each other way, the baby mama family is non traditional but totally fun.
the one i recommend the very most:
baby mama for sure. i love tina fey & amy poehler (they just hosted the golden globes together. it is the year 2013 right now) & this is their first movie together (& only i think, actually, so far this being 2013). it's a bit on the gross side, but in a good way. in a good tina & amy way...
